The "Differently" AbledPoet X of PDX: "A month or two ago, I discovered a talent I didn't know I had: I was on local light rail coming home from downtown with 'the other paper' (there are two papers in Portland: a daily and 'the other paper,' which publishes on Tuesdays and Fridays), which includes a Cryptoquip cryptogram (letter-substitution cipher), and I had no writing instrument with me. I realized I didn't need to have one when I solve a Cryptoquip. I will sometimes do crosswords in my head if I don't have a pen or pencil, but I didn't know I could manage the same thing with the Cryptoquip until I tried! Talk about useless!"
The "Differently" Abled (responsorial)
Poet X of PDX (echoed by Forty-16 and Holding): "594evr's son-in-law's talent is far from useless ('He can drink a full glass of water — from the opposite side of the glass'): He'll never suffer from hiccups! It doesn't take a full glass of water; just a sip or two will do.
"I've known this remedy for hiccups for over 25 years and have yet to see it fail. That's a lot of hiccups (or isn't a lot of hiccups)."
